I’m Leon Day, an Integrative Counsellor based in the beautiful coastal town of Lowestoft, Suffolk. Whether you're looking for face-to-face or online therapy, I’m here to support adults on their journey toward well-being.
Since 2010, I've proudly served the NHS as a Mental Health Nurse in various settings, gaining a wealth of experience along the way.
In 2021, I decided to embark on a new path, focusing on becoming an Integrative Counsellor. I completed my training at Waverley Abbey College and became a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC).
My commitment to you includes an enhanced DBS and registration with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Your information is always handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.
I believe in the uniqueness of every client. My primary objective is to create a safe, confidential space where you can express yourself openly, assess your circumstances, and explore your choices. Throughout this journey, you'll feel valued, empowered, and supported as you move forward.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor each session to meet your individual needs. I draw from various therapeutic models, including Person-Centred, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Trauma-Informed approaches. To enhance the counselling experience, I also incorporate creative interventions and psychoeducation when appropriate.
I have a special interest in assisting individuals facing challenges such as alcohol and substance issues, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Additionally, I have a deep interest in addressing spiritual matters. Together, we can explore how we ascribe meaning to our lives and how our beliefs influence the challenges we encounter.
Let's work together to rediscover hope and create a brighter future.
I offer flexible therapy options, whether you prefer short-term or long-term support, either in person in my comfortable counselling room or through convenient online sessions. Each session lasts between 50 and 60 minutes.
First Session
In our initial session, we'll gently explore the challenges you're facing to develop a shared understanding of the factors contributing to and sustaining your difficulties. We'll also discuss the number of sessions you might need. To help us track your progress, I may ask you to complete some questionnaires.
Therapy
We'll meet regularly, typically once a week. Our initial focus will be on understanding your current struggles and their impact on your life. I'll also inquire about your early life, as this can provide valuable insights into your present challenges. Once we have a clear picture of your difficulties, we'll identify specific goals for treatment to keep our sessions focused. Together, we'll work as a team to make the necessary changes to achieve your goals. I'll utilise my clinical skills and various therapeutic approaches to help you consider different perspectives on your problems. I aim to help you build emotional resilience, develop internal resources, and learn new skills to maintain the positive changes you desire.
Embarking on therapy is a significant decision, and it's natural to feel overwhelmed by the various therapeutic approaches available and which one might be the best fit for you.
Research consistently shows that while the specific therapeutic approach is important, the most crucial factor in successful therapy is the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist.
To help you make an informed decision, I’m delighted to offer a complimentary consultation. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions about me and my therapeutic approach, helping you decide if I’m the right therapist for you and how I can support you.
If you’d like to arrange your consultation, please don’t hesitate to reach out by completing the inquiry form below.
Your journey toward healing and growth is just a step away.
I look forward to hearing from you!
